Other Ways to Give
Sylvia Mendez Elementary is the only two-way immersion school in Berkeley Unified School District. As well-funded as the Berkeley schools are, there is not enough money to cover all the expenses of the education your child receives at Sylvia Mendez. Each year our families and community generously step in to fill the gap with our annual fundraisers.
The money raised helps pay for our amazing farm and garden program, school field trips, academic and literacy support, vibrant community programs, and supporting families in need.

Employer Matching Gifts
Did you know that you can double your contribution to the Sylvia Mendez PTA by taking advantage of your employer's matching benefit? Many companies have a matching gift program; you give an amount and they donate the same. You can search here to see if your employer matches your donations. If you don’t see your employer, you can ask the Sylvia Mendez Fundraising Team or ask your employer.
The matching gift process differs from company to company, so some may require a completed paper acknowledgment form.
