This is a state-required leadership committee also known as the School Site Council. The SGC is responsible for helping to develop our school site plan and making decisions about how we spend our Measure A and state and federal funds in order to meet the needs of all Sylvia Mendez students. Committee activities include evaluating the results of the standardized tests; creating and analyzing annual parent and teacher surveys; and considering great ideas for serving students at Sylvia Mendez.

NOMINATE YOURSELF TO THE SGC! The School Governance Council is an elected committee of 12 voting members of parents, teachers, and staff. The SGC develops our school’s plan for student achievement---examining data on student achievement and contributing to set budget priorities. The SGC meets regularly one Wednesday per month 4:30-6pm

TE PUEDES NOMINAR COMO CANDIDATO AL SGC! El Consejo de Gobierno Escolar (SGC en inglés) es un comité elegido con 12 miembros de los padres, maestros y personal de la escuela con derecho al voto. El SGC desarrolla el plan de educación de nuestra escuela --- examinando los datos sobre el rendimiento de los estudiantes y contribuye a las prioridades presupuestarias. El SGC se reúne cada mes durante 1.5-2 horas.
