Sylvia Mendez Annual Fund
Like most schools, Sylvia Mendez runs an “annual fundraising” program every year through the PTA. In the fall, a letter is sent to all families asking for a cash gift to support our school programs.
Some parents who have paid for preschool think of this as "One More Month". This final month of payment, no matter the size, contributes greatly to the PTA fund. Every gift--from $5 to $1,500--counts, and together we have a tremendous impact on the quality of our children’s daily experience at school.
Last year we raised $31,000 through the Annual Fund and the One More Month Campaign. This year we want to hit $40,000.
All donations are tax deductible. The Sylvia Mendez PTA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, tax ID #94-6172095.
Don’t forget to ask your employer if your company has a matching donation plan—many do!—which is an easy way to double your contribution.
SPRING AUCTION
OUR FUn annual community party!
The Spring Auction is a tremendous party for adults, an entertaining way to shop, and a wonderful way to raise money for Sylvia Mendez students. The 2016 Spring Auction raised around $41,000 for the school!
Sylvia Mendez families and local businesses donate a range of fantastic items ranging from restaurant meals, entertainment, lessons, and coaching to professional services, jewelry, books, massages, gift baskets, travel, and more. Shoppers bid on items, with the highest bidder winning.
